The investigation into treatment solutions for PFAS contaminated water began in 2009 in Australia. Development work was conducted with Airservices (Australian Government aviation branch) proving the efficacy for removal of both hydrocarbons (residual unburnt fuel & oil fire source), PFAS (AFFF fire fighting foam) and the problem emulsions formed by the mix of AFFF and hydrocarbons.
The PFAS Water Treatment System (PWTS) is a small footprint (1/20th of conventional technologies), low capital & installation cost, treating all contaminants through the same filtering sequence to produce water at less than detectable levels of PFAS across the range of analytes and, critically, only producing a small volume of a safe dry waste.
The technology solution has been deployed as a hire solution and permanently installed for Defence, Oil & Gas, Construction, and Mine sites.
What PFAS Global has achieved is the first commercially viable solution for quick deployment to further preventing “the creeping darkness” of PFAS contamination, continuing to darken the world landscape which acts as a global pandemic on the environment.
